From candlelit carols to puppets and mince pies, there’s something for everyone. We have planned a wonderful series of events and services for our entire community to enjoy.

The Christmas Experience
From Saturday, 5th December

This December, the grounds of St Thomas’ Church on Bidbury Lane are being transformed. We invite you to step into the light and walk through the Christmas story as it unfolds around you.

It’s an immersive, illuminated journey for the whole family. Wander through the beautiful displays, capture perfect festive selfies at our photo stations, and experience the wonder of the season together. Your journey begins at the Bidbury Lane gates.

Christingle
3:00pm Sunday, 29th November

Join us for a spectacular celebration for all ages as we bring back our famous, larger-than-life Christingle! From the bright orange and red ribbon to the sweets and candlelight, the Christingle is a beautiful symbol of hope and light. Witness the breathtaking moment we dim the lights and the candles are lit, creating a golden glow that represents the light of Jesus shining in the darkness. Come and be part of the magic.

Family Carols By Candlelight at St Thomas’

Join us for a beautiful, candlelit carol service designed with every family member in mind. We’ve kept all the traditions you love classic carols, the glow of the candles, the Christmas story told, and all this made accessible for everyone.

Whether your little ones want to dance in the aisles, or make some noise, you are so welcome here. It’s the traditional service you remember, in a family-friendly environment.

Carols By Candlelight at St Thomas’

The traditional carol service you love, with carols and readings. Just like all of our services this is open to the whole community. Set in our 12th-century parish church, with guest choir Folks in Harmony and candlelight. What could be more Christmassy? So come on down and kick Christmas off properly.

Live Character & Animal Nativity at St Nicholas’
Saturday, 19th December.
Experience the magic of the first Christmas with live actors and a stable of real animals. We have four performances to choose from 2:30pm, 3:00pm, 3:30pm or 4:00pm.

The magic doesn’t stop there! After we walk the story, you’ll have the chance to meet and pet our furry co-stars. It’s the perfect way to create lasting memories.

It’s a puppet-packed, Jesus-centred, coffee-and-croissant-fuelled, 30-minute Christmas kids and families adventure.

Family Dress Up Nativity Crib Service at St Nicholas’

Be a star in our Scratch Nativity! It’s a spontaneous nativity play, just come dressed as your favourite nativity character, or simply come along to enjoy the fun. Everyone gets to be a star!
